The Two Fridas 1939

By: Frida Kahlo

In this painting we can see Frida holding on to another image of herself simply with her heart cut out and pasted on to her other self while both the one with the heart and without are holding hands. She paints one version of herself holding a scissor which she used to cut out her heart as you can see blood spilling on her white dress. When first looking at this painting she seems to be implying that she is very lonely and maybe only feels like in reality she only has herself.
